Bridgend residents and organisers are being reminded that a useful council toolkit is available to those who are planning to hold public events this summer.

Produced by the Events Safety Advisory Group (ESAG), it provides organisers with advice and guidance on safety and regulatory aspects of planned public events, and urges them to get in touch as early as possible.

Featuring six easy-to-follow steps, the event toolkit is designed to offer a one-stop shop full of all the links and event planning information needed.

With ESAG meetings held on the third Wednesday of every month, an initial event notification form should be submitted as soon as any planning begins, while fully completed plans should be supplied at least 10 working days prior to a meeting in order to be included on the agenda.

Council leader Huw David said:"Organising a public event is not easy, but the ESAG toolkit seeks to make it as simple and as painless as possible.

"This is an excellent resource which offers uncomplicated, straight-forward, step-by-step advice and tells you everything you need to know about putting an event together in Bridgend County Borough.
