Aberavon public toilets were forced to close after vandal attack

Facilities at Aberavon Beach were recently subjected to a vandalism attack.

The public toilets at Aberavon seafront were out of action for a short time for repairs to be carried out and the area made safe. The attack was thought to have taken place late on Thursday, September 2 and South Wales Police have been informed.

A Neath Port Talbot Council spokeswoman said: “This was completely unnecessary vandalism and very selfish in that we will now be forced have these toilets out of operation while they are cleaned and repaired despite many visitors to our coast requiring such facilities.

“We hope those responsible for this awful attack will be found when this incident is
investigated by South Wales Police and if anyone saw anything suspicious in or
around the toilets on Thursday please contact the police.”

“Our facilities and building services teams have responded to undertake repairs and the toilets have been made safe and are now back open.”
