Hyndburn Neighbourhood Policing Team have issued a warning following "a number of reports" within the Peel and Barnfield ward areas of the town over last weekend.
Residents are advised to store anything of high value in a secure location, and extra police patrols have been pledged.
In a message sent via the In the Know email alert system on Monday afternoon, PCSO Ellie Treagust said: "Three males have been seen on CCTV from 11pm onwards climbing back walls of properties then forcing entry into sheds.
"Our CSI team have been deployed to some addresses to try and ascertain evidence - however, we are led to believe the males wore gloves.

"If anyone happens to have CCTV of three males acting suspicious over the last three nights, please reply to this email and I will make contact with yourself."
