Appeal to find family of elderly man who suffered medical episode in Tilehurst

Mystery surrounds the identity of an elderly man who is being treated in hospital after suffering a medical episode in Tilehurst.

Police are appealing for anyone who may know the man to come forward so his family can be contacted.

The man, who is thought to be in his eighties, fell ill outside the Co-Op in Overdown Road at around 12.55pm on Monday, April 30.

He was taken to hospital and is having treatment.

However, he has not got any identification, and police in Reading, Berkshire, are appealing for his relatives, friends or neighbours to get in touch.

He is white, around 80 years old, 6ft 4ins tall and is bald with grey hair at the sides of his head.

He was wearing glasses, a blue coat, blue trousers and black shoes and had a silver watch on.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Karen Symons, said: “We need the public’s help to identify this man, so that any next of kin can be informed of this incident."
