On this day 21st. January in 1870, the Illustrated London News published our engraving above the caption, "Our Ironclad Fleet: H.M.S. Hotspur."
On leaving school in 1960, I worked in Fleet Street, in press photography. My interest in the printed image expanded to include vintage and antique prints. What was a collection became a business!

The regiment's 2nd regular battalion, whose colours were being deposited at Guildhall in our engraving, took part in the Second Boer War until its conclusion in June 1902 with the Peace of Vereeniging.
