Award success for Papworth Everard Indian restaurant
The restaurant on Ermine Street North was crowned Restaurant of the Year for East of England Region
WELL DONE: Abu Shahid, thanked customers for their loyalty and the nominations
A celebratory night was held at Shilpa Indian Restaurant for customers and invited guests to share its success at the recent Bangladesh Caterers Association Awards (BCA) 2022.
The restaurant on Ermine Street North was crowned Restaurant of the Year for East of England Region-3, at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel, in October. It was chosen from hundreds of outstanding entrants across the UK and was judged on food presentation, innovation, hygiene standards and customer care.
The awards ceremony was hosted by broadcaster and media personality Greg Wallace MBE, along with TV personality and entrepreneur, Tasmin Lucia-Khan, and the award represented the restaurant’s hard work, passion and commitment to bringing customers the best of Indian Cuisine.
An evening of celebration was organised by Currywala Media and hosted by Akram Hossain, communication lead at Currywala Media, while a camera crew captured the event’s memorable moments.

It was a brilliant evening filled with fantastic food, drinks and heartfelt speeches. The most heart-warming speech of all was given by Shilpa Restaurant’s owner Abu Shahid, who sincerely thanked customers for their loyalty and the nominations. He also thanked the BCA for the award and dedicated it to the community.
Shilpa Indian Restaurant and its team are indeed proud to be part of the legacy of Great British Curry and proud to serve the community with authentic food and exceptional customer service.
