Ayr Racecourse to fund room within new Ayrshire cancer centre
The centre will be the first of its kind in the region
Ayr Racecourse and Western House have pledged to raise a whopping £25,000 to fund a room within Ayrshire Cancer Support’s proposed new cancer centre.
The charity has announced opportunities for firms to become ‘Founders’, by raising or donating funds for a specific space within the new centre.
The team at Ayr Racecourse will fund the 'Drop In Hub' within the centre, which will be a welcoming space for anyone living with, or affected by, cancer to drop in and talk to support staff from ACS or others in a similar situation as themselves.
David Brown, Managing Director of Ayr Racecourse and Western House Hotel said: “Ayrshire Cancer Support has been our charity partner for several years and we are delighted to be able to help them realise the dream of their new cancer support centre in Ayr.
“Already our team at the Racecourse have come up with several ideas to help us raise our target of £25,000 which will fund the Drop In Hub at the centre and we look forward to launching these fund raising events to further help Ayrshire Cancer Support.”
Founders names will be engraved on Founders plaques housed within the centre.
