Ayrshire end of life charity in with chance of winning cash funding
The charity is made up of volunteer companions who give their time, compassion and a listening ear
An Ayrshire end of life charity is in with a chance of winning a share of £25,000.
No One Dies Alone (NODA), is in the running to win a share of the cash bonanza, thanks to Scotmid’s Community Connect award scheme.
The charity- made up of volunteer companions who give their time, compassion and a listening ear- is one of three shortlisted groups in the West of Scotland who will receive either £15,000 or £10,000 following a Scotmid Members vote in October.
The vital funding will go towards supporting the charity’s work in the local community and providing a listening ear to people in their final hours to ensure that no one is left feeling alone.
The charity also provides training and practical care items to those in need as well as bereavement support to families.
Linda McCurrach, NODA founder, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be nominated.
"Any help that we receive will go a long way for our small organisation. This will undoubtedly mean we can reach more people who need our services.”
