Bath-based management company creates new vital role

Chelverton Asset Management has appointed Sally Clifton in a new position of responsible investing manager.

Sally has held roles in investment management, business advisory and incubation in a career spanning 25 years.

Trained as an equity analyst, Sally rose to head of UK Equity Investment Management with National Provident Institution, from where she pursued an interest in business advisory.

Projects included new business model design, strategy, regulatory change management and funding support.

Sally has always enjoyed working with companies which prioritise people and the planet.

In her new position as responsible investing manager, Sally will work to increase the transparency of Chelverton’s responsible investing activities.

She said: “The challenge is to increase communication around our active stewardship activities and build out the ESG integration lens for our stock universe, for whom materiality is highly company specific and metric data much less available.”

Sally is currently completing an MBA programme at the University of Bath, having been awarded a ‘Women in Business Scholarship’ by the School of Management.

Chelverton founder and managing director, David Horner said the appointment: “reinforces and enhances our capability in the responsible investing arena.”
