A team of dedicated walkers from Principle Care Homes have completed a 100km walk in just three days.

Staff from the company's head office in Billericay, Essex, walked the equivalent of a marathon each day as they covered the long distance from their base in Essex to the group's first home in Fleet, Hampshire.

Supported by friends, family and co-workers, the pavement-pounding challenge has so far seen the team raise over £11,000, but they are hoping to extend that total to £15,000 by the end of the month.

The funds raised from the charity walk will be given to The Together Project - a charity-led initiative that boosts wellbeing, reduces loneliness, and fosters stronger, happier communities by creating joyful intergenerational experiences.

Em Dean, chair of the charity committee, said: "The event, whilst certainly a challenge, was a great opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, spend time with the team and exceed our £10k target."
