A local secondary school is taking part in a new initiative to promote archery across ethically diverse communities.
Ninestiles, an academy based in Birmingham in West Midlands, is taking part in Project Rimaya.
The funding from this project has allowed the school's archery club to upgrade their equipment.
They have also expanded the club and entered external competitions.
Archery GB is also supporting two members of staff at Ninestiles to gain their Level 1 coaching qualifications.
Project Rimaya is a SportsAid-funded initiative being run by Archery GB.
Alex Hughes, principal at Ninestiles, said: "I am delighted that Ninestiles has received funding from Archery GB to upgrade our archery club’s equipment and support our staff to gain coaching qualifications.
"We are proud of our culturally diverse school population and pleased to be part of Project Rimaya.
"The archery club is now one of the most popular clubs at the school and I hope that even more young people will now consider taking up this exciting sport."
Archery GB is the national governing body for archery in Great Britain.
They are responsible for all levels of archery within the UK from grassroots to performance level.
