Boro’ Brass return to centre stage

Boro' Brass are holding a concert after having to cancel their Christmas show.

The group is made up of amateur musicians from across Littleborough, Milnrow, Todmorden, Bacup, Chorlton and Rochdale, Greater Manchester and was set to delight their audience with festive favourites in their home town.

However, with organisers concerned by the rise of the Omicron variant and the lack of social distancing opportunities at a small venue, they decided to hunt for a larger location. After many phone calls and emails, a new hall was secured, only to fall through at the last minute, much to the players' disappointment.

However, not wanting their hard work and rehearsals to go to waste, Boro' Brass will now be performing "A Not So Christmassy Concert" tomorrow (February 5) at Milnrow Parish Church at 7 pm.

They'll perform some "winter-based songs, " traditional brass pieces, and familiar modern favourites. For good measure, the group's training band will kick off proceedings with some wellchosen crowd-pleasing numbers.

Band Conductor Laura Whiticker said: "We're so excited to be able to announce the date of our rescheduled concert, now at the beautiful venue of Milnrow Parish Church. All our members and I were truly gutted we couldn't perform in December, but we're looking forward to putting on an even better show than originally planned with some brand new additions!

"Boro' Brass and the Littleborough Training Band have worked so hard on the programme, and we can't wait to perform. I'm so proud of the progress they have made throughout 2021, despite the many challenges caused by COVID-19."

  • Tickets are still available for the event and you can reserve your seat by contacting Laura on 07572 548563 and you can find out more about the band by searching "Boro' Brass" on Facebook.
