Bracknell Rotary Club raise £1000 for Gurkha charity
A Burns' Night Dinner was held in aid of The Gurkha Welfare Trust
On Saturday, January 20 the Rotary Club of Bracknell held a very successful Burn's Night Dinner at the Flavell Suite on Sindlesham Court in Wokingham, Berkshire.
The dinner was attended by 105 people including local District Governor, David Pope and the evening was accompanied by the bagpipe music of Alan Vaughan from the Reading Pipe Band and drummer Gregor Hosie. There was also a delicious four course Burns' Night Supper, and Ceilidh dancing organised by Alan Davis.
The Burns' Night Dinner was held in aid of The Gurkha Welfare Trust and is an annual event in the calendar of the Rotary Club of Bracknell. The Rotary club will be sending £1000 to The Gurkha Welfare Trust as a result of this event.
President Nigel Boshier thanked Dave Donaldson, Sue and Alan Davis and Paul Wentzell for organising the event and announced that next year it will be held on January 26.
