Businesses are being invited to supply their goods and services to Carmarthenshire Council.

The local authority is engaging with local small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s), third sector organisations and minority groups to establish a supplier initiative.

The council is keen to see business competing for the opportunity to supply it with goods, works and services.

Surgeries will be hosted across Carmarthenshire until March next year, where the council’s procurement and economic development officers will give information and assistance on current and future trading opportunities, business support and grant funding.

The council's cabinet member for resources, Cllr Alun Lenny said: “Procuring goods, works and services from local suppliers is vital to strengthen our local economy and the communities that it supports.

“The surgeries that will be held at various locations across Carmarthenshire over the coming months are an excellent opportunity for small and medium sized businesses, third sector organisations and minority groups to seek advice on how to tender for opportunities with the council.”

The first surgeries take place on June 20, at The Beacon in Dafen, Llanelli and next month on July 18, at Yr Egin in Carmarthen.

More surgeries will follow between September  and March, which will include locations in Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford, as well as Burry Port and 10 rural towns.

Virtual surgeries will also be available.
