A charity that helps young people at risk of homelessness across the area has received a donation worth £1,000 to help continue providing its services to those in crisis.
The donation made to Llamau, based-in Cathedral Road, Cardiff a charity that supports young people, women and children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Established more than 30 years ago, the charity has supported over 67,000 people to escape homelessness and domestic abuse, young care leavers, people involved with the criminal justice system, and women who’ve experienced domestic abuse.
The charity offers a range of services including crisis support through safe and secure accommodations and refuges, mental health support, education and employment opportunities.
Llamau, Director of Fundraising and Communications, Jenna Lewis, said: “We’re very grateful to Chris and the Amazon team in Swansea for this kind donation. This year has been one of the most difficult years to date for Llamau and the people we support so donations like this are so important.
"We’ll be able to use the money to continue supporting young people, women and children to live in safety and ultimately look to leave homelessness behind them.”
The donation was made by the local Amazon team in Swansea. Speaking on the donation, General Manager, Chris Law, said: “Llamau recognises that homelessness is far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter. As well as accommodation, the charity also offers a range of emotional and educational support services. I am pleased we can support Llamau’s work.”
