Care company to hold Rochdale open day to encourage new carers
The event offers the opportunity for people to drop in to their local Cera branch to meet the care team, to ask questions and to learn more about what a career in care entails
A care company is holding an open day to encourage more people in the community to consider a career in care.
Cera, the digital-first healthcare-at-home provider, is holding the open day at its Rochdale branch on Livesy Street on Thursday February 17 from 10am-2pm to hire for roles in Rochdale, Bury and Oldham.
The event offers the opportunity for people to drop in to their local Cera branch to meet the care team, to ask questions and to learn more about what a career in care entails.
If any students are about to graduate, experienced workers are considering a career change or anyone is looking to supplement their income, Cera say they can ‘recruit, train, certify and deploy new professional carers in a matter of days’.
Felix Wetzel, director of carer acquisition at Cera, said: “Over the past two years, the majority of us have experienced what it's like to care for people outside of our families - from staying at home to protect the most vulnerable, checking in on an elderly neighbour or dropping off food for someone in isolation.
“The feeling of caring and making a difference to the lives of others is incomparable.
"It doesn’t matter what stage of your career you’re at, if you’re reliable, empathetic and friendly, it's time to consider joining the caring profession.”

The open day event is part of the company’s national recruitment effort across England, Scotland and Wales, as Skills For Care data identifies 105,000 vacancies were advertised in the sector (in England) on an average day.
The company has also introduced a £500 ‘Golden Hello Bonus’ applicable to new professional carers joining Cera.
