Carmarthen car park will be first in UK with office pods for public use
Office pods and electric car charging points are all part of the new look car park at St Catherine's Walk
Office pods and space for remote working are being introduced at a Carmarthen town centre car park this month - making it the first of its kind in the UK.
The multi-storey car park, which is run by Apcoa Parking, and located next to St Catherine's Walk, is the first of the firm's sites to have wifi connected office pods and remote working facilities.
The office pods will be workspaces that people can hire if they need a private place to conduct a meeting online or get some work done while they charge their vehicle or want to be away from a busy environment.
The car park will also have electric vehicle and bike charging points.
The revamp which is branded as an Urban Mobility Hub will be equipped to offer a range of services which are focused on the needs of the local community at each location.
Following the launch in Carmarthen on Tuesday, February 21, similar schemes will be rolled out in Sheffield and Manchester, with a further seven earmarked for others parts of the UK.

There will also be parcel collection/drop off points and snack vending machines at the car park, and opportunities for local businesses to work with Apcoa to create pop up shops or kiosks, or use parking bays for other services.
Kim Challis, Apcoa Regional Managing Director said:
"Apcoa are so pleased to be opening our first Urban Mobility Hub in Carmarthen. It will be a centrally located resource for the local community but also represents a significant part of the wider sustainability model that Apcoa is using the change the future of parking."
Apcoa Parking's wider strategy will also deliver a total of 10,000 on and off-street charge points in the UK by 2025 and sets a company target of net zero carbon by 2040.
