Brighton have had a £6million bid for defender Aden Flint rejected by Bristol City.
The defender has been in fine form this season and was linked with Birmingham City before the start of the season.
Sky Sports is reporting the towering centre-back is wanted by Chris Hughton's side, who have already signed Jurgen Locadia and Vikto Gyokeres this month.
Preston North End are closing in on the signing of Hamilton captain Michael Devlin.
The centre-back would link up with his former boss Alex Neil at Deepdale.
Devlin's contract with the Scottish club expires in the summer and Accies say they have reached an agreement for the defender's transfer.
Nottingham Forest striker Arvin Appiah has signed his first professional contract.
The 17-year-old has been a regular for the Reds' U16 and U18 sides and has scored three goals for the U23s this season.
