The donation has enabled Pathways to stock up on food

A homeless charity has received a £1,000 donation to help towards buying mobile phones to enable clients to keep in contact with the charity.

The donation made to Pathways, in Chesterfield, is the primary homeless service supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Chesterfield, Bolsover, and North East Derbyshire.

Its mission is to end rough sleeping in the community by helping people find a home.

The charity offers a variety of support services including housing, social, mental health, and well-being.

The grant will cover the cost of mobile phones, other support services, as well as sleeping bags, tents, clothing, and food.

Laura Symonds, from Pathways, said: “On behalf of everyone at Pathways, I want to say a big thank you to Richard and the team from Amazon. Donations like this help us continue our work to end homelessness.”

The donation was made by the local Amazon team in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. A representative, Richard Cowlishaw-Ellison, said: “Pathways does important work in our community, supporting homeless people. The charity goes above and beyond, providing fantastic care for people when they need it most. We’re delighted to be supporting their efforts.”

Pathways received the donation as part of the “Amazon in the Community” program, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
