Community organisations encouraged to contact new Co-Op Member Pioneer

Former Springhill Hospice Fundraising Manager, Ian Jenkins, has joined the Co-op Group as their Member Pioneer for Castleton, Heywood and Middleton.

He said: “I am delighted to be a part of the countrywide network of 1,000 Co-op Member Pioneers.

"The whole ethos of the Co-op is to create a fairer world, and it is the Member Pioneer’s responsibility to bring together our many colleagues with local groups and charities that fit into the Coop’s three main aims.

“Those aims are fair access to food, fair access to mental wellbeing support and fair access to education and employment for young people.

“I’d be very happy to hear from community organisations in my catchment area who feel that the Co-op may be able to help them.

"Our stores at Grosvenor Street in Castleton and Middleton Road, Heywood, along with the Funeral Care office in Middleton, all take part in the Co-op’s ongoing process of giving assistance to local good causes."

The Co-Op's Food Share scheme helps distribute food to local foodbanks, and te Community Fund helps with the funding of various schemes and organisations across local communities, or with the staff lending valuable time as volunteers for events and charities.
