Team members and residents at a local care home have been celebrating after receiving their Covid-19 vaccinations as the country continues its fight back against coronavirus.

The vast majority of residents and team members at Care UK’s Francis Court in Copthorne in West Sussex were given the first dose of the vaccination with the support of Copthorne Surgery.

One of the first in the queue for the vaccination was 86-year-old Terry Cooper.

He said: I’m really pleased my wife and I have had the vaccine.”

Anna Allen, home manager at Francis Court, said: “We’re thrilled that residents and team members at Francis Court have had the first dose of the vaccination. Everyone is excited to have taken this first step towards returning to normal.

“I would like to offer my thanks to the NHS team at Copthorne Surgery, as they were efficient and friendly – we can’t wait to have our second dose as soon as we are able.”

The Care UK team will continue to follow their stringent infection control measures, including regular deep cleaning, regular testing, the use of masks and other PPE, social distancing, air purifiers and temperature checks to keep everyone safe.
