Cornish luxury self-catering firm Beach Retreats up for three national awards

A self-catering specialist has been shortlisted for three international Shortyz awards.
Considered the Oscars of the self-catering industry, the Shortyz bring together short-let industry leaders from around the world and celebrate success across 18 award categories.
Beach Retreats is shortlisted in three categories, UK Staycation Award, Best Use of Social Media and Best Sales and Marketing Campaign.
For Beach Retreats it was their #beherelater campaign which caught the judges’ eyes.
Designed to inspire and reassure guests while supporting the ‘stay home’ message during lockdown, the marketing campaign saw Beach Retreats share live videos and images of Cornwall with a reminder that Cornwall can be enjoyed again.

As 2020 travel restrictions eased, the campaign then supported local businesses and responsible travel with guides to the new normal, covering everything from takeaway suggestions and where to buy local produce to things to see and do.
As part of Covid safe measures, the self-catering specialist also put extra cleaning procedures in place and allowed flexible booking, offering refunds to all affected bookings.
Managing director Andrew Easton, said: “This is an exciting moment for us to be named against finalists from around the world and shortlisted for three Shortyz awards – especially after such a challenging year.
"Like all businesses we have had to quickly pivot our operations and our marketing has played an important role in facilitating and encouraging responsible tourism. To emerge with a triple award shortlisting is a credit to the whole team who have been fantastic throughout.”
The winners will be announced at the virtual Shortyz award ceremony on Thursday 22nd April.
