Coronavirus Diaries: Facebook group launches in Llanfyllin

Written by Chris Derricott, from Llanfyllin in Montgomeryshire, Powys

A new group has launched in the Llanfyllin area offering the local community with support where it is needed.

The Facebook group offers a variety of ways to help, from monitoring people at risk and the opportunity to volunteer to keep in touch via telephone with the vulnerable (like me, I suppose).

Simply search Facebook for "Llanfyllin covid 19 response group. It's an excellent idea.

The tide is changing when it comes to the feelings towards people fleeing 'the plague' from high population areas to holiday homes and caravans is growing.

My worry is that the Assembly will have a knee jerk reaction and prevent us all from travelling.  Or maybe they will declare open season on tourists?

I hope image below will help cheer people up, if only for a few moments.

Here is a tongue in cheek comment on the subject:
"Safwn yn y bwlch gyda’n gilydd yn nawr,
Dim feirws yn ein hangen ni,
Torrwyd mae gobaith mewn cyfnod du,
Daw’r Sais at ein tiroedd ni,
Safwn yn y bwlch ,ymosodiad yn ein trem,
Amddiffyn y byddwn ni.
Mae Cymru’n ein gwaed, gofalwn am hon,
A mynnwn ein rhyddid ni
,
Cytgan:
Gyda’n gilydd fe safwn ni, Gyda’n gilydd fe safwn ni,
Dros ein papur tŷ bach,, dros ein pobl, dros ein gwlad,
Gyda’n gilydd fe safwn ni. cymru fach ar gau.jpg
