Cossall Open Gardens returns as a Place To Reflect on D-Day landings

The organisers of Cossall Open Gardens plan to offer visitors the opportunity to pause for a moment and reflect on the momentous events that took place 80 years ago.

That's when Britain and its allies launched a massive offensive across the English Channel to re-take Europe and rid it of the Nazi war machine.

Organiser Sofie Holdsworth said: “It is important to honour the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.

"As such, Cossall Open Gardens will include 'A Place to Reflect'. These are dedicated spaces within gardens where visitors can honour those who fought and supported the troops on D-Day.

"Whether you're seeking silence, reminiscing about loved ones, or simply enjoying the beauty, these carefully chosen spots provide a sanctuary for reflection. Keep an eye out for the poppy symbol, which guides you to these special locations.”

There will be a range of gardens open this year including an orchard, several smaller gardens, a real 'Gardeners World' garden as well as the grounds of St. Catherine's Church.
