Gaurav Narang after completing the London Marathon
A man from Croydon has raised more than £700 for charity after completing the London and Boston marathons just five days apart - completing the Boston event virtually.
Gaurav Narang ran the London Marathon on October 3 and the Boston Marathon virtually on October 9.
To make the feat more impressive, Gaurav was struck with Covid-19 in July which disrupted his training for weeks.
He has raised £734 in total for Neurokinex Kids, a spinal cord injury rehab charity in Crawley, and is aiming to hit £1000 with further donations.
Gaurav said: “Neurokinex Kids is the most amazing charity which delivers ground-breaking rehabilitation therapy for children with a spinal cord injury.
"Despite the challenging conditions the children are living with, Neurokinex Kids is a really happy place. I met Jasper, 7, and was astounded by how hard the staff were working him but also how much fun they made it.
“I heard how far Jasper has come since he was paralysed by a spinal stroke as a toddler and it made a real impact on me to see where my fundraising will go."
Gaurav is a member of the Striders of Croydon running club and was supported in his efforts by his brother in New York who also ran the London Marathon and the Boston Marathon virtually on the same day.
His fundraising page can be found on the Just Giving website.
