Croydon schools raise hundreds for Red Nose Day
A community news update from your area
Children at two Croydon schools did their bit for Comic Relief's annual Red Nose Day appeal.
Children at Chestnut Park Primary School arrived wearing red clothing or in outfits that made them feel 'happy' to celebrate the annual fundraising event, which took place this year on Friday, March 15.
The school, which is a member of the GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust, also enjoyed an end-of-day cake sale where donated goodies, such as doughnuts, cake bars, cupcakes, brownies and flapjacks, were all sold to raise further funds for Comic Relief's annual appeal.
Meanwhile, Meridian High School enjoyed a non-uniform day where students each made a recommended £1 donation to support Red Nose Day.
The secondary school, which is also a member of the GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust, additionally held a cake sale at break and lunchtime to further raise funds for the cause.
