Widnes Bowling Club Cup
Widnes Bowling Club B v Ball A
The Bowling Club B got off to the better start, Alan Magee (19 darts) and Terry Roach gave them a 2-0 lead. This quickly evaporated as wins from Anthony Hall in the singles and Anthony Hall & Karl Windisch levelled the tie. This only spurred on the Bowler who then ran the next four legs. Terry Roach & Robbie Gorst (17 darts), John Bowles & Kev Garcia in the pairs, Robbie Gorst and Kev Garcia (16 darts) made the game safe. Karl Windisch won the final game for the Ball but not the match.
Widnes Bowling Club A v Simm’s Cross Inst. A
The Stute were on the score sheet when Ray Dutton (18 darts & 119 finish) took the first. Mathew Drury replied for the Bowler only for Tony Green to put the Stute back in front. Mathew Drury & Rob Magee (15 darts &116 finish) levelled the scores once again only for Simm’s Cross Inst. A to win the next three and the match. Tony Green & Eric Peel, Brian Dutton & Glen Owen in the pairs and Brian Dutton in the singles were the victors. Rob Magee for the Bowler and Mick Cullen for the winners took the last two games.
Simm’s Cross Inst. B v Hammer & Pincers
The Stute B went one up when Callum McCaffrey won the first only for Keith Glover to level the match. The Stute then upped their game by taking the next five. Andrew McCaffrey in the singles, Callum McCaffrey & Danny Hamlet, Tony Newall & Lucas Quinton and Andrew McCaffrey & Andy Davies in the pairs and Andy Davies (18 darts) put the Stute B into the next round. The Hammer to their credit won the last two with Paul Murty and Anne Grady being the winners.
Millfield v Mill Brow SC
The Brow were in irresistible form as they swept aside good Millfield side. They raced into a 7-0 lead with wins from Brian Spruce (180), Mike Callaghan (17darts) and Dave Powell in the opening singles. Peter Fisher & Kieran Stringer (17 darts), Clive Rule & Kev Helps and Dave Powell & Brian Spruce completed a clean sweep of the pairs. Kieran Stringer added to the Millfield’s misery before getting on the board with a win from Adam Mellor. Peter Fisher won the last to put the Brow into the semi finals.

Widnes Bowling Club A at home to Widnes Bowling Club B
The Bowler B were first on the scoreboard through Robbie Gorst (2 x 18 darts) before the home team levelled with Mathew Drury (180). The B team then took the next four through Kev Garcia (19 darts) with Rob Magee (18 darts) in defeat. John Bowles & Kev Garcia, Robbie Gorst & Terry Roach (18 darts & 180) and Alan and Danny Magee made the points safe. The Bowler A then took the next two with wins from Tex Bowles and Scott Grady before John Bowles (17 darts) completed the match for the winners.
