Ball A at home to Ball B
In a local derby, the A team took the first four games through Martin Ball, Karl Whitfield, James Holden (14 Darts) and the first pair Jonny Bate & Nathan Sivills. James Tyghe and Paul Bennet pulled one back for the B before the A finished the tie with a win from Lol Fonterigo & Scott Devany. Peter Kneale (after drawn game) and Rob Gatcliffe (15 Darts) for the winners. Paul Bennet then took the final game for the Ball B, but it was to no avail.

Widnes RUFC at home to Widnes BC B
The home team made a great start with wins from Lee Buckley and Keith Glover before the Bowling Club B got off the mark with victory from Mike Callaghan. John Bowles & Mike Callaghan levelled the game before the RUFC regained the lead with a win from Duane Lawton & Keith Glover. This proved to be their last as Danny & Alan Magee, Kenny Murphy, John Bowles and Tom Callaghan won the last four and the match for the away team.

Simm’s Cross Inst. at home to Widnes CC
The Cricket Club started the game well with a win from Trevor Chadwick before Andy Abbott levelled the match (13 Darts). Nev Goff restored the lead for the visitors before the Stute won the remaining games. Andy Abbott & Mick Cullen, Brian Dutton & Glen Owen and Ged McPartland & Peter Phillips made it a doubles clean sweep. The Stute’s remaining winners were Brian Dutton (18 Darts), Ray Dutton (16 Darts) and Stuart Pennington.

Mill Brow SC at home to Millfield
Millfield made a terrific start to their campaign when they took the first six games of the match. Ian Wall, Alan Sutton (16 Darts) and Mike Howard completed the first three singles. Mike Howard & Danny Wood (17 Darts), Chris Taylor & Ben Hewitt and Tony Jackson & Joe Kelly kept Millfield’s run going. Kevin Helps got the home team on the board with a win before Keith Horabin (17 Darts) and Adam Mellor completed the victory for Millfield.

Widnes BC A at home to Cricketer’s Arms
Tony Langford and Graham Fenney (12 Darts) gave the Cricketer’s Arms a great start. Joe Batty got one back for the Bowling Club A before Tony Langford & Dave Gerrard restored a two game advantage for the away side. The last two doubles were shared with Scott Grady & Joe Batty for the BC A and Karl Abbott & Dave Palmer for Leggies. Mark Smith kept the home team’s hopes alive with the next singles but with wins from Brian Dwyer and Paul Mason the tie was won by the away team.
