Amateur dramatics group Denstone Players have been busy through the pandemic, setting themselves up a new storage area for their growing collection of props, scenery, equipment and costumes.
The group, which would normally have held regular plays and performances were it not for the coronavirus outbreak, applied for £1,000 of fudning from East Staffordshire Borough Council to buy a 20ft storage container.
With help from their ward member Councillor Steve Sankey, the group obtained permission from the Denstone Village Hall Committe to replace a dilapidated shed used to store play equipment used by the village's toddler group and the new storage unit was delivered from Burton.
A further grant from Staffordshire County Council then paid for a replacement shed for Denstone Toddler Group, which has been set up next to the container.
Denstone Players chairman Dave Shooter said: "This was surely a great example of a variety of community groups coming together to improve their provision.
"Denstone Players now have more storage space, the village hall has got rid of an unsightly shed and the toddler group has a brand new storage facility, which the local art group could decorate with another of its imaginative murals.
"Both the borough and county councils can be assured that their grants have been well spent."
Denstone Players members are busy writing a pantomime based loosely on the classic story of Pinnochio and they hope to start rehearsing the performance as soon as restrictions allow, with a view to performance early next year.
