It's a happy tale for dogs at Dogs Trust’s Darlington Rehoming Centre following a £250 donation from a local business.
The dog welfare charity will be able to treat its rescued pups to new toys and food.
Dogs Trust’s Support Relations Officer, Gordon Norrie, said: “When I received the news of the donation, I thought it was fantastic.
“We are always on the lookout for sponsors and the £250 that Bellway has given us will help provide both food and toys for the dogs.”
The centre which first opened in 1994, and which rescues and rehomes more than 1,000 dogs each year, is located in Sadberge, County Durham.
Currently is is undergoing a rebuilding programme to provide more facilities and support for rescue dogs.
