Elderly residents supported by monthly donations during virus outbreak

Persimmon Homes Maidenhead has announced plans to donate to community groups which help the over-70s for the foreseeable future.

Elderly residents supported by monthly donations during virus outbreak

The Community Champions scheme, launched by Persimmon Homes in Maidenhead, aims to help local groups, charities and good-causes across Berkshire, Greater London, Middlesex and Oxfordshire, with two monthly donations of up to £1,000.

Many elderly residents are at high-risk, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, and as a result, the donations will be made to groups that directly support over-70s in the community.

Since its launch in 2015, the Community Champions scheme has donated more than £3million to around 3,500 community groups.

Karl Endersby, director-in-charge of Persimmon Homes North London, said: “We have always believed in supporting the communities where we build, especially grassroot activities, and we hope people understand our desire now to specifically support the over-70s at this time.”
