Elphick handed first Reading FC start but Martin only makes bench

Tommy Elphick has been handed a first start in a Reading FC shirt for Saturday's clash with Millwall.

Elphick came on as a second-half substitute during the 3-1 win over Burton Albion in midweek for his debut following a loan switch from Aston Villa.

Fellow new signing Chris Martin will start the game on the bench, while Sone Aluko drops down to the bench after starting on Tuesday night.

Royals boss Jaap Stam is likely to field a 5-3-2 formation, with Yann Kermorgant and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson leading the line.

Bodvarsson netted a brace in midweek, taking his tally to five in the past four games.

Millwall, meanwhile, include former Royal Jake Cooper, who is also celebrating his 23rd birthday.
