Margate and Folkestone Pride alongside Screen Archive South East (SASE) present Our Screen Heritage, the archive series of public film events exploring and celebrating LGBTQIA+ life in Folkestone, Margate, and the surrounding areas.
Following a major public callout for film footage aiming to discover, document, and share key stories of past and present queer communities, contributions span over 30 years. Volunteer community curators from Folkestone and Margate's LGBTQIA+ community, are actively collecting material from the public, alongside capturing on film for the first time, stories, and memories from the local LGBTQIA+ community.
Information on how to submit films plus footage collected so far can be found here. Our Screen Heritage hosts screenings at Dreamland in Margate on October 22. These gala Saturday night events of performances and screenings are free and open to all.
