Friday's FA Cup fourth-round game sees Reading FC and Sheffield Wednesday meet for the 24th time in the two clubs' history.

Reading have won 10 times, Sheffield Wednesday eight and there have been five draws.

The pair have served up some goalfests over the years, including some thumping wins for Royals.

Fans will be hoping for a similar showing from their side who will be looking to use the game as a chance to get the winning feeling back, having won just once since the start of December.

As the build-up to the FA Cup game at Hillsborough (7.45pm kick-off) continues, we have taken a look at five memorable clashes from recent years.

With Reading battling the Owls for a play-off spot, a win for either side would be a significant step towards a top-six finish.

Yann Kermorgant's goal on 13 minutes settled any early nerves and despite an onslaught from the hosts, coupled with some superb saves by Ali Al-Habsi, a late breakaway goal by Adrian Popa sealed a fine victory.

Reading: Al-Habsi, Gunter, Obita, Moore, Blackett, van den Berg, Beerens (Grabban 62), Swift (Oxford 89), McCleary (Popa 87), Williams, Kermorgant.

Plenty of goals in this one but the majority at the wrong end from a Royals perspective. Former Reading winger Michail Antonio helped Wednesday go 2-0 up within half an hour, only for Pavel Pogrebnyak to pull a goal back.

An own goal by Sean Morrison extended the Owls' lead, however, and despite a last-gasp penalty by Adam Le Fondre, it was too little too late for Nigel Adkins' side.

Reading: McCarthy, Gunter, Kelly, Pearce, Baird, Obita, Morrison, McCleary (Blackman 69), Guthrie (Le Fondre 67), Pogrebnyak, Robson-Kanu.
