Folkestone Choral Society back at Leas Cliff Hall

Folkestone Choral Society is performing at the Leas Cliff Hall once again, after an absence of five years. This is a place where the choir and orchestra, conducted by Lucy Gove, is able to perform larger works to a wider audience.

This is Lucy’s first time as our conductor at this venue.

In a time of much worldwide turmoil, it gives us pleasure to be representing hope, in the form of Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man subtitled A Mass for Peace. This work, which was written with the emphasis on being anti war, depicts war at its worst but ends with passages clearly outlining a hope for peace.

In addition to The Armed Man the choir will be singing other popular works - Faure Requiem and Faure Cantique de Jean Racine.

The concert takes place on Saturday, March 23 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £18, £21 and £25, and are available online at www.atgtickets.com/folkestone or through the Leas Cliff Hall Box office from 6pm-8pm, whenever there’s a show on.
