Satisfied Micheal Everitt described Folkestone Invicta’s 7-0 demolition of Potters Bar Town as, “the perfect response” after the midweek defeat at Isthmian League Premier Division leaders Worthing.

The Seasiders coach saw newcomer Luke Wanadio score a hat-trick, while David Smith chipped in with two and Ade Yusuff and Ian Draycott made it seventh heaven for Neil Cugley’s side who are fifth in the table with games in hand.

Crucially, Invicta now have the best goal division in the division on plus-29 with their next league encounter at home to eighth-placed Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.

“It was the perfect response, we played well in parts and obviously scored seven goals and got the three points which was the most important thing,” Everitt told the club’s website. “To bounce back as well as we did we are really pleased with it.

“Against Worthing we didn’t do certain things well, like keeping the ball. We did that here and created chances. We rectified a few things that weren’t right.

“We were in full control. Every time we went forward we looked a threat. The seven goals is like having another point which could make a difference at the end of the season.”

Wanadio is on a one-month loan from Dartford and Everitt said: “We said to him, ‘go and express yourself’. You can see the impact he had, he was really bright. He was something we might have been lacking with his pace and he certainly showed that here. He has played at a decent standard. Hopefully when a month has gone by he will want to stay.”
