It was quarter finals day in the Chester & District FA Sunday Cup, with three matches taking place to see who would join Waverton Centurion in the semi finals.
In the all Section A clash, St.Theresa's and Tarvin Rex couldn't be separated after 90 minutes, which ended up one apiece. Sam Henry was on target for Saints, with Cameron Noyes replying for Tarvin, but it was the Saints who eventually went through 4-2 on penalties.
Another close tie took place between the top two teams in Section B. Dee Rangers went in front thanks to an Andrew Fowlie strike. With five minutes to go Matty Hewitt, the Dee Rangers keeper, saved a Custom House penalty to ensure his side progressed to the semi finals with a 1-0 win.
Jack Sconce gave Section C team, Saughall Colts, the lead from the penalty spot against Section B's Axis United, who then rallied to go in 4-1 up at the break. The second half was a more even contest, but it was Axis who progressed to the semi finals with a 5-2 win. Charlie Evans got Saughall's second. A Trey Lattie hat trick, and strikes from Sam Draper and Josh Fennell saw Axis through.
Waverton Centurion meanwhile were in action in the C D Vale Brickwork Section B against local rivals AFC Tattenhall, who won 4-0 thanks to goals from James Withe, Chris Noden, Kyle Evans and Sean Arathoon.
In the AJL Sports Management Section C, leaders The Gunners ran out comfortable 7-1 winners against Madisons, for whom Daniel Sandy's netted the consolation. On target for the Gunners were Jamie Easton (2), Jordan Ecclestone (2), Chaney Lloyd, Terry Watts and Kyle Smyth.
