Starting with Flexi football over at Neston in the CWFL Link Up Neston High Monday Night Division’s Last Dancers go one point clear of Neston Nomads after a 3-1 win over El Porto thanks to goals from Gary Hearn’s, Lee Dunbar and Carl Dunbar.
Wes Phelan netted for El Porto. Athletic VH got their first points of the season by beating Parklands by the odd goal in seven. The scorers for Athletic were Jamie Nicol with a brace, Lewis McKeown and Olly Roberts. Parklands replied through a Dom Riccio brace and Luke Squires.
Over at the CWFL Link Up Blacon High Monday Night Division both games were postponed due to staffing issues at the school caused through Covid. At the CWFL Link Up EPSV Monday Night Division John Shipton and Phil Radcliffe both netted a brace for Crossway in their 4-0 win over Sutton Rangers.
In the CWFL Link Up Warrington Friday Night Division Albion Social beat Shoreham Sabres 4-0 with strikes from Ben Brown and a Craig Mather hattrick.
In the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division Hooton are the new leaders after beating Blacon Youth Reserves 2-1 with goals from Lloyd Ithell and Steve Forbes. Blacon responded through Damien Rowley. The win for the “Hoot” sees them on 40 points with a better goal difference that Blacon but having played a game more.
Unitor sit in third place a point behind but with three games in hand. Waggon and Horses are back in the mix on 37 points after a fine 4-0 win over Black Horse with goals from Leon Whitley 2 and Aiden Field 2. Fifth place Higher Bebington Kelma, also on 37 points, beat Chester Nomads III’s 3-1 with goals from Andy Noonan, Keith Lewis and Bryan Layfield.
Eddie Jebb 3, Ian McGraa and Jamie Manifold all netted for Shaftesbury Youth in their 5-3 win over Helsby II’s who had Alex Hale, Gaz Gerrard and Tom Turkington on the scoresheet. Neston Nomads beat Upton JFC Youth 2-1 with goals from Steven Golightly and Luke Hall. The win sees back-to-back victories for Alfie Hawkins men and sees them move clear of the relegation zone. John Lally scored the opening goal of the game for Upton.
In the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship run away leaders Groves MKS met with a resilient Orange Athletic and had to fight hard for a 2-0 win with goals from Lee Ludgate and Thomas Hockley. Port Sunlight go third after beating Rossmore Rangers 4-0 with goals from Mitch Francis 2, Callum Rankin and Mark Rand.
Shaftesbury Youth Reserves continue their good run of form with a 2-1 win over Hoole Rovers with goals from Dean Clarke and Jimmy Gomes. No scorers were given for Hoole Rovers. Owen McElligott, Andy Hughes Andy Young and an own goal were the scorers for Winsford Saxons in their 4-0 win over FC Duddon United.
Great Sutton went down 4-3 to Chester Nomads IV’s. Reece Bridge (2) and Danny Lewis were the Sutton marksmen. Chester Nomads IV’s failed to report any score or scorers. In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 3 Queens Park Vets went down 3-1 to Hartford Vets. Eddy Hutchison was the Queens scorer with Hartford failing to report their scorers. West Kirby Vets beat Great Sutton Vets 7-0.
Neil Atkinson led the way with four followed by Paul Rowlands 2 and Liam McCarthy. In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 4 Great Float made it six wins from six with a 4-0 win over Parklands. Eastham Vets beat Rake and Pikel Vets 3-1 with goals from Dave Sadler, Paul Jones and a screamer from Rich Courtney. No scorers or result provided by Rake and Pikel. Chester Nomads Vets beat Sandbach Town Vets 4-2 thanks to strikes from Tom Cairns (2) and Steve Davies 2. Sandbach reported no result or scorers.
In the Northern Cup Unitor beat Winstanly Reserves 4-1. No result or scorers provided by Unitor. Helsby III’s went down 2-1 to Middlewich Town, Kostas Alexopolous nabbed the Helsby goal.
