Over at the CWFL Link Up Blacon High Monday Night Division, games resumed after last week's Covid layoff with both Newton Athletic and FC UBER recording wins.
Newton stay top with a 1-0 win over their nearest rivals Farndon thanks to a Liam Bradley goal.
FC UBER now go second after Luke Chard (3) and Tom Berry (2) earned them a 5-0 win over Hoole Rangers. At Neston in the CWFL Link Up Neston High Monday Night Division’s Red Cat are the new leaders after their 3-0 win over FC Catalyst. Dean Judge (2) and Daniel Chan were their scorers. Neston Nomads drop to second as they could only muster a 1-1 draw with a well organised Tigers.
Connor Horrigan netted for Neston with Chrissy Bushell replying for the Tigers. At the CWFL Link Up EPSV Monday Night Division Ship Argyle are four points clear at the top after a Neil Stephens brace earned them a 2-1 win over Ellesmere Port Villa who had Liam Budd to thank for their goal.
TRIC beat Sutton Rangers 4-1 with goals from Phil Quillam, Charlie Thomas, Dom Hoppe and Lewis Cooper. Oghoghome Amromawhe replied for Sutton. In the CWFL Link Up Warrington Friday Night Division Albion Social go six points clear at the top after a convincing 8-0 win over Cromwell Park with goals from Simon Cade (2), Owen Nugent (2), Aiden Brown, Josh Dudley, Robbie Deus and Mike Gregory.
In the night's other game Atlas Sheds beat Shoreham Sabres 4-0 thanks to strikes from Tony Zoezee (2), Tony Blackhurst and Andy Evans.
It’s all change again at the top of the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division. Unitor AFC are the new leaders after a 4-1 win over Black Horse sent them back to the summit. Leon Jones led the way with a hat-trick with Lewis Clarke adding a fourth, Matt Holt replied for Black Horse. Last weeks leaders Hooton dropped two points as they were held to a 3-3 draw with Waggon and Horses.
Richie Feightman (2) and Joel Whalley netted the “Hoots” goals with Leon Whitley (2) and James Henry scoring for the Waggon. Higher Bebington Kelma go third after a fine 7-1 win over Runcorn Sports III’s in difficult conditions. Andy Noonan was on fire yet again for Kelma as he scored four with Ben Kierman, Jamie Bolderstone and Sean Burgess all adding to the tally. Billy McGee hit the Runcorn consolation.
Blacon Youth Reserves drop to fourth after suffering their second defeat on the trot. They went down 5-3 to Chester Nomads III’s who are managed by Jack Green, Blacons former manager. A brace a-piece for James Lloyd, and Tim Ashbrook with Jordan Lee adding the fifth for Chester Nomads.
Damien Rowley, Sam Davies and Robbie Joinson were the Blacon scorers. Only four points separate the top five teams and it looks like its anyone’s for the taking in the run up to the finishing post. Shaftesbury Youth went down 3-2 away to Upton JFC Youth, Liam Crawford and Dean Nunn their scorers.
The winning Upton goals came courtesy of a Caelen McGovern penalty, a Sam Ismay 20 yard volley to make it 2-2 and 16 year old Joe Astbury who slotted home in the last two minutes to seal the win. Neston Nomads continue with their “great escape” as they made it three wins from their last three games by beating Helsby II’s 2-0.
Unfortunately Neston provided no scorer’s names. Cestrian Alex and Hoole Rangers ended in a 1-1 draw, Adie Graves with the Cestrian goal and Hoole Goal Keeper Joe Stacey hitting home for the equaliser after the wind had took hold of his kick. The Cestrian keeper could only get his fingertips to the ball but could not keep it out of his net. Something you don’t see everyday.
In the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship run away leaders Groves MKS continue to dominate after they beat Helsby III’s 4-0 with all the goals coming from Lee Ludgate. Port Sunlight Nomads go second with a great 3-1 win over Shaftesbury Reserves with goals from Richard Booth, Callum Leach and Sam Bolton.
Dean Clarke replied for the Shafts. Third placed Christleton beat Great Sutton 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Dan Ward. Steve Whittaker and Jonathan Hallam both netted for FC Duddon United in their 3-2 defeat at the hands of Chester Nomads IV’s.
Winsford Saxons drew 3-3 with Orange Athletic after their midweek exploits of playing Prestatyn Town in a friendly on Thursday night. Winsford’s goals come via Andy Young, Ryan Hughes and Dean Mundy with no scorers reported for Orange Athletic.
In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 1 Mersey Royal Vets were awarded their game with Pockets Vets after Pockets were unable to raise a side. Hooton Vets beat Neston Nomads Vets 3-1. Either team reported no scorers.
