League
Crewe Town faced local rivals Sandbach Town in what turned out to be a very tight
game.
Crewe edged it and took the three points with a 4-3 win. Scoring for the home team was Rhys Holt with two while there were singles for Will Pirrie and Danial Lacey. Netting for Town were Brandon Howman, Adam Socha and Jay Wild.
In the other league game being played this weekend between Crewe Wanderers and Mary Dendy 1982, the sides couldn’t be split with a 1-1 being the final score, Tom wakefield grabbed with the Mary Dendy 1982 goal.
Crewe District FA Cup
There were four teams across three games representing the Crewe and District league. In the one game that saw two Crewe and District teams go up against each other, Sandbach Town Ramblers and Sandbach Curshaws couldn’t be split at 90 minutes with the game finishing 2-2. Sandbach Rambles went through on penalties by a 3-2 margin.
In the Holmes Chapel v FC Bollington match up, it was the Cheshire league outfit Holmes Chapel that took the spoils with a 5-0 win. The other league representative Mary Dendy had a home draw against Nantwich Town reserves.
