The Bill Gresty Memorial Trophy final will be an all Section C contest, as Madisons booked their place after a thrilling penalty shoot out victory over AC Innovent at Whitby.

Madisons took the lead just before half time from a Mark Wilson header, before a superb 20 yard  strike from Wes Sinclair levelled things up early in the second half.

In an open game, Innovent were reduced to 10 men in stoppage time following the denial of a goal scoring opportunity, but neither side could grab the winner.

In a high quality penalty shoot out, Madison's keeper was the difference with a good save, and with nine successful other spot kicks, Madisons held their nerve to go through 5-4 on pens. Madisons will now meet The Gunners in the final on Easter Sunday.

In the AJL Sports Management Section C, the top two teams both won. The Gunners ran out 5-0 winners against Horse &Jockey thanks to doubles from Steve Rowlands and John Britton, and a strike from Jordan Saunders.

Jackswood kept up the pressure with a 4-1 victory over Saughall Colts, for whom Ethan Auden was on target. Prolific striker Jack  Pickering netted another two for Jackswood, with Matty Hall and Charlie Bell also on the scoresheet for the second placed team.
