Girvan & District Flower Club raise funds for local charities
The club hosted their annual local charity night, with funds raised going to a good cause
Girvan & District Flower Club joined together last week to hold their annual ‘Fun with Friends’ and Local Charity night.
Chairperson Fiona Robertson thanked members and friends for their generosity in donating raffle prizes, as well as purchasing tickets.
She invited everyone to fill in nomination slips as to which local charity they wished to benefit from the evenings proceeds.
Guest speaker Mary Hogg, from Crosshill, took the audience on an informative trip of The Girvan Valley, showing slides of views the majority of the audience had only seen from afar.
Starting at the source of the River Girvan at Loch Girvan Eye, the group journeyed for thirty miles taking in the Garden of Eden Stone at Straiton, Craigengower Monument, viewing Flood Plains and Glacial Erratic Stones before ending at Girvan Harbour.
The Raffle was then drawn before everyone enjoyed a light supper prepared and served by the committee.
Wednesday, March 23 will see Louise Jones from Wallasey present her ‘Making a House a Home’ demonstration.
