Gloria Hunniford, the legendary broadcaster and television presenter, recently attended an exclusive event for retirees in Chelmsford, Essex.

As part of a retirement property launch event, the much-loved television personality held an informative talk and Q&A session at Walter House on Rainsford Road.

Speaking about everything from her early days as a singer to successful stints on radio and TV, Gloria shared plenty of behind the scenes gossip while guests enjoyed canapes and fizz along with incredible views in the Sky Lounge.

Retirees from Chelmsford and across Essex came to listen to her talk before being offered the chance to enjoy a guided tour around the newly built retirement development in the city centre.

Those in attendance were given the opportunity to quiz Gloria on her illustrious career and the intimate event was the first of its kind in Chelmsford.

Sam Watkins, divisional sales director at McCarthy Stone, said: “We’re so pleased to be opening the doors of Walter House for local retirees. To have Gloria join us on this special occasion was the icing on the cake, and she made it a memorable experience for all."

The event marked the launch of the new McCarthy Stone Walter House retirement development and was hailed a big success by those that came to listen to Gloria and her life stories.
