Godalming's Rodborough School has joined forces with Weydon secondary school in Farnham.

The Milford-based school will join the Weydon Multi-Academy Trust which formed in April 2017 and now comprises seven schools.

The CEO of the educational trust, John Winter said Rodborough's addition would "build capacity and resources" and create links in areas such as sports and the arts.

He added: "The pandemic has highlighted the need for schools to work together to provide excellent future plans.

"By coming together we're able to create specialists in every element of school life."

Rodborough's principal, Matthew Armstrong-Harris, noted: “Rodborough already has a strong relationship with all the schools in the Trust and we are look forward to strengthening that partnership further."

He hopes by joining Weydon, it will speed up plans to develop their school site and add the proposed 3G sports pitch.

Since creating the Trust, Weydon's student numbers has increased students in our by more than 17%.

They claim this helped gain an extra £7.3 million in funding.
