A golf club’s lady captain has made a donation to Springhill Hospice at the end of her term at the club.
Anne Richardson, who has been lady captain at Crompton and Royton Golf Club in Oldham for the past year, donated £1,780 to the hospice after she selected it as her charity of the year.
Despite the impact of Covid, Anne was still able to raise the money through a variety of different events and competitions.
One of Anne’s highlights during her time as Lady Captain was hosting the Oldham Ladies Association Joan Hirst Charity Cup Competition.
The money raised at this event was generously donated by the ladies association to Anne’s chosen charity.
Anne was supported by her fellow members at the club, particularly the ladies section.
This has allowed her to have a really successful year and make the donation to the hospice.
Vicki Murray, corporate and partnerships fundraiser at Springhill Hospice was presented with a cheque for the Hospice.
She said: “On behalf of Springhill Hospice I would just like to say a massive thank you to Anne for all her hard work during her time in office.
“She has raised an incredible amount of £1,780 for the Hospice which is astounding in what has been a very tough year battling with Covid restrictions.”
