Girlguiding members from Farnborough, Hampshire gathered together at Samuel Cody School in February to celebrate World Thinking Day.
The event is a celebration of ten million girls worldwide that has taken place every February 22 since 1926. It remains a day for all Guides and girl Scouts to think of each other and celebrate their sisters all around the world.
The occasion marked the first time the Farnborough Division of Girlguiding has been able to meet face to face since before the pandemic began and it included Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and leaders.
Michelle Richards, division commissioner for Farnborough, said: “It’s great to see girls of all ages together again after such a long break.
"We’ve got a lot to be grateful for this Thinking Day and we’re so pleased we could host a fun-filled and educational day.”
The focus of the event this year was on the environment. Members were asked to bring in items from their home recycling which were then turned into sculptures of endangered animals. The young members also created edible animals, followed by a dance lesson and an opportunity to show off their new moves at a disco.

Leaders were also celebrated at the event with the new president and vice president announced as Valerie Jenner and Anne Winter respectively. The Kelpie award, created to honour the previous president Irene ‘Kelpie’ Morrison, was also awarded to dedicated young leaders from the area.
Girlguiding offers girls from age four to 18 the opportunity to take part in a range of activities. From learning a new craft to attending camp, girls take what they do in Guiding with them as they grow up.
Everything from working in a team to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be, and to make a difference to the world around them.
