A Hastings homeless project in East Sussex, has responded to the Ukraine crisis by making and sending across survival sheets, made from recycled crisp packets and landfill plastic fused together.
Crisp Packet Project CIC donated the sheets to a local collection point, alongside other items collected from volunteers, friends and family.
The project was launched in 2019 to create warm and waterproof blankets for those in need.
Pen Huston, founder of Crisp Packet Project CIC, said: "Some of our CPP area groups and others are making these CPP survival sheets to send over on transport lorries with other supplies to assist and help the displaced people of Ukraine."
"These we hope will keep them a little warmer in the freezing cold conditions and a little dryer.
"We have also been made aware that the generosity of people has overwhelmed many collection points and they are finding it hard to sort the items out.
"If people would like to help we suggest donating money is a great way."
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), a group of charities who collaborate in emergencies, have launched the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The UK Government is match funding the DEC appeal pound-for-pound up to £20 million, this means your support will go even further.
