Barchester’s Herne Place care home, in Herne Bay, in Kent was a den of ghoulish activity as they celebrated Halloween with a party. Both residents and staff got in to the spirit of things with spooky music playing whilst they were making Halloween garlands, carving and decorating pumpkins.
The home ran a special community pumpkin carving competition where the residents judged the photographs that were sent in by people and then chose the winners.

General manager, Judith Knight cackled: “Our residents and staff love an opportunity to dress up and what better time of the year to do this than Halloween? We’ve had a whole range of tricks and treats for the residents and we have all really enjoyed every moment of it.”
A resident of Herne Place care home said: “It has been a fun day. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get into the Halloween spirit. I really enjoyed the staff dressing up and the pumpkin carving."
