A Hinckley homelessness charity has hired a new director with over 20 years of experience working at both local and national levels in the sector.
Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland have welcomed Dawn Wright, who has managed several charities, including Coping with Cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland and worked as Director of Services at Headway.
Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland support 16 people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion, providing a safe home, daily support, meaningful work, funded training, and the opportunity to gain new skills.
Dawn said: "I am delighted to join Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland during its 10th anniversary year."
"It's a real privilege to be allowed to work with the people we support and our staff team, and I look forward to the future and what it holds for us."
The charity's Emporium shop on Stockwell Head raises vital funds, offering work experience and a sense of purpose to those being supported.
Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland will celebrate their 10th anniversary later this year.
Dawn will oversee the charity's current operations, continuing its work supporting people to overcome homelessness.
