HOPE Spring Wellness event to offer information and support to the over 50s
A community news update from your area
Age Cymru Gwent, together with project partner Age Cymru, will host a HOPE Spring Wellness and Wellbeing event on Monday, March 4, from 1pm to 3.30pm at the Riverfront Theatre in Newport.
HOPE (Helping Others Participate and Engage) is a partnership project delivering independent advocacy for older people (50 plus) and their carers across Wales. The event will provide information and support to help those aged 50 or over, and their carers, to keep well this spring.
There will be information on a range of issues including advocacy, claiming benefits, housing, community safety, volunteering, and how to reduce your energy bills. There will be more than 20 organisations attending including Care & Repair Newport, the Department of Work and Pensions, Gwent Police, and Warm Wales.
And, of course, there will be free refreshments throughout the event. There'll even be a free tote goody bag for visitors.
James Shaughnessy, Age Cymru Gwent's chief executive officer, said: "Our charity provides a wide range of services, dedicated to supporting older people in Gwent. This event, hosted with the Age Cymru HOPE Project, provides a great opportunity for people to meet both teams over a cuppa and benefit from our life-changing support for older people and their loved ones."
